The Heritage Farm Foundation is committed to the preservation of small farms through a variety of education, conservation and on-site farm projects.
Some of the current projects include:
Endangered Farm Animal Preservation and Education: Our focus for 2016-2017 is to raise enough funds to create an endangered farm animal sanctuary, In addition for caring for endangered breeds, the sanctuary will also serve as an educational space and showcase for the public interact and learn about these rare farm animals. For an added fun, historic and cultural component, if enough money is raised, we would like to create each animal paddock according to time and place it hails from: Old Irish Sheep Farm, Provincial France, Ancient China, etc.
Conservation of environmental resources to promote sustainable farming practices
Farm Worker Housing Advocacy, Education and Build Projects
Preservation and Expansion of Small Farms by supporting beginning and young farmers.
Growing Local: Engaging the community in supporting local agriculture by promoting programs connecting local farms with the community; supporting and building local community gardens and community farms.
